Staff vs Students Dodgeball

On Thursday, the students played the staff in a game of dodgeball.  The game was fiercely contested, but unfortunately the students came out on top winners!  The staff are preparing for the next battle on Thursday next week for a game of basketball.  I think we may have the height advantage.

Basketball A team

On Thursday ST ALBANS OAKS SMASHED ROYDVALE RAIDERS in basketball. The score was 18 - 4 to us. Ben had a great game so I  think he is going to get player of the day. For great sportmanship and a great rebound shot. Flynn who is in the B team got put on for six minutes so he could warm up. It got really tiring in the second half but all of the running paid off. After the game all of the boys showed team support and we all had fun.

BasketBall Acorns

Basketball was soooooo EPIC!!! In the last 4 seconds Flynn scored a hoop just in front of the three pointer line, when it was six all. So it was 8-6 to us, so EPIC!!! I say EPIC!!!! Flynn got player of the day.

Heart of Achievement

Last week our Heart of Achievements went to Isabella and Ethan.

Isabella received her award because she has been working really hard on ensuring her books are set up neatly and correctly.  She set this as her goal a couple of weeks ago and has definitely made a big effort to do this properly.  Well done Isabella.

Ethan received his award for trying really hard in writing to spell his words correctly.  He has been using his dictionary to help him when he gets stuck.  Ethan is also writing more detail into his weekend recounts. Great improvements Ethan. Well done!

Another Earthquake

Well done guys on yet again experiencing another earthquake at lunch time.  You guys should be really proud of the way you looked after one another.  Look after your parents and I hope you get some sleep tonight. Keep checking the school website for updates on when we are back at school.

St Albans school hockey team.

5 seconds left its 5-4 5,4,3,2,1. GAME OVER!!! said Miss Woods.YAY!!!We won 5-4.Oh I'm Max the reporter of the hockey team lets get back to the story.We bused back to school.Well we were in the bus Miss Woods called the player of the day.It was Charlie our captain.When we got back to school we told the class our win.So this day turned out to be a awesome day.

Basketball A team the Oaks

On Thursday 9 June the A basketball team vs YMCAIt was a close game.At half time the score was 10 all and at the end of the game it was 16 18 YAY we one.Hope we win next time.

Netball b team

On Friday last week we played against Aranui school at Hagley Park.  My position was centre, and the score was 3-20 for Aranui school.  We gave  Aranui a big cheer for winning the game. I hope we win               next weeks game but I'm not sure who we going to play.  Pieta got player of the day because she played well.

Yes! We won 14-4 today Matua Te Haere coached us at 6:00pm. The player of the day was Flynn and Max.  We versed Cotwell Chargers.

 Shoot! St Josephs shot a hoop! The bell rang for the end of the game. We had lost 6-30. But the other team were really good!

40 hr Famine

Don't forget to collect your money over the long weekend.  Remember our class is in the lead for getting the sponsor money in on time.  Well done those of you that are participating.

Zones Cross Country 2011

Yay it's the day of the zones cross country. I think all the year 5 and 6's are going to have a great time. We are going to Windsor School today. We left at ten to 9am in our uniforms. Pieta's mum took Anna, Gabrielle,  Pieta and I. When we got there it was about five past 9am. As soon as we got into the school we saw a huge playground even though the school was not very big. Anyway, the nine year girls went first. We did a great job. Then the boys went and they did a great job and so on. Overall our school did a great job. Most of the people got into the Canterbury Champs.  I came 15th, Gabrielle came 33rd and Curtis 14th.  Curtis is a reserve for the Canterbury's.
