Welcome back to another busy term. It sounded like all the kids had a great 2 weeks off. We started off the day welcoming our two newest members of our class at powhiri - Emily who has come from Ashburton and Amanda who has come from Auckland. We hope you had a lovely first day at St Albans!
We shared our news about what we did in the holidays. We then began writing a newspaper article about our holidays. We came up with some interesting headlines for them too.
It's going to be a busy term - we have a trip to the Botanical Gardens next Thursday and really need some more parents to transport and supervise the trip. Please let Mrs Ford know ASAP if you are available.

Holiday Homework
Hi kids. Hope you haven't eaten too many chocolate bunnies or eggs already!
The plants are growing super fast. I'll post some more pictures for you later this week.
Big congrats to Lavender and Corban for practicing their maths and reading on Study Ladder! Please keep up the reading at home - you have lots of opportunities for reading these holidays. Get on Study Ladder if you are allowed and spend 10 mins practicing those basic facts.
Enjoy!

Easter baskets
Our buddy class shared their creative Easter baskets with us. We decided to make our own too. Our criteria for our baskets were:
Easter baskets need to have:
- a handle
- be able to hold eggs
- small enough to fit in our backpacks
- decorated
Here are some pictures of us making them.

Big Day Out Term 1
Today we went to Alpine Ice to skate the day away. We had so much fun - even though a lot of us fell on our bottoms. Here are some pictures from the day.

Our seeds
It was so exciting this morning coming into the class and seeing that some of our seeds had sprouted already! The children who picked snow peas to plant have seen a wee sprout appear.
Here is what they look like today.
