Zones Cross Country 2011
Yay it's the day of the zones cross country. I think all the year 5 and 6's are going to have a great time. We are going to Windsor School today. We left at ten to 9am in our uniforms. Pieta's mum took Anna, Gabrielle, Pieta and I. When we got there it was about five past 9am. As soon as we got into the school we saw a huge playground even though the school was not very big. Anyway, the nine year girls went first. We did a great job. Then the boys went and they did a great job and so on. Overall our school did a great job. Most of the people got into the Canterbury Champs. I came 15th, Gabrielle came 33rd and Curtis 14th. Curtis is a reserve for the Canterbury's.

Yellow Poem
This term we have been writing a variety of poems. This week we are writing poems about different colours.
Today we wrote a poem together about the colour yellow.
Today we wrote a poem together about the colour yellow.
What is Yellow?
Yellow is sweet nectar collected from flowers.
Yellow is a happy, joyful, smiling face.
Sometimes it's a sunset depending on the light.
Yellow is a frothy, banana milkshake.
Yellow is when daisies spread across the meadow.
It is the delightful taste of butterscotch lollies.
Yellow is lightning flashing in the dark sky.
It could be a cheeky monkey swinging in the trees.
Yellow is proud, no doubt about it
But could you imagine living without it?

St Albans Oaks basketball game
On Thursday the St Albans Oaks played Papanui Power. We lost 15-9. Jaia scored 1 goal. I think we played well for our first game.
