Welcome back! Gosh what an exciting holiday we all had - snow, flights cancelled or delayed, waiting in airports, making snowmen or sitting by the fire drinking milos. Phew! This term is going to be a great term with no interruptions!
We are going to be studying Ancient Civilisations - Egyptians, Romans, Greeks. We will look at comparing and contrasting the way they lived to how we live today and what important discoveries were made then that help us today.
Also the Rugby World Cup kicks off very soon and we will be looking at who is participating and following the All Blacks closely.

Red and Black Day
Last Friday we had a Red and Black day to celebrate the Crusaders making the Super 15 final. TV One even heard about our mufti day and came down to check out the fun.
Here are some photos from the day.

Real Art Roadshow
We were lucky enough to have an art exhibition come right to our doorstep today. A collection of work from around NZ was on display for Year 4-6 students to admire today. Here are some of the pieces we enjoyed.
This was Miss Woods' favourite.
What do you think about this piece of art? What is the significance of the oil containers?
Nice cuddly hammer-head shark?
The boys were fascinated about the solider with the bird head.

Heart of Achievement
Gabrielle and Zoe were received our HOA this week for being such wonderful members of our class. They demonstrate all our school values, are polite and hard working. They are great role models to the younger children at school. Thanks for being such lovely people and making me smile.
