Character descriptions

In writing, we are learning how to write about characters in stories.  Today we wrote a class description of a fictional teacher.  Here is what we wrote:

Our teacher is a very unusual wrinkly, old lady.  We get distracted easily by her grey, bushy monobrow and her long red hair that comes down to her tail bone.  She is very strict but always treats us the same.

Mrs Fink is unusual because she always dresses in black and red outfits like the Crusaders.  She wears over-sized red socks with black jandals all year round, even in winter!

When we are walking to school, Mrs Fink rides past us on her purple scooter.  Her black cat, Mr Tinkles, sits in a brown basket on the back of it.  He wears a harness to ensure he doesn't jump out!

In her spare time, Mrs Fink learns ballet.  We are always getting notices about being invited to watch her recitals.

Harewood Premier Women win!

My hockey team won our final on Saturday.  My team has not won the Rose Bowl trophy since 1976. So it was very exciting when we won! Thanks to Brigit for taking these photos and for Niamh, Mr McKenzie Brigit and Gracie for cheering me on! Hopefully one day you girls will be playing in this team when you're older!

Our big day in

This morning we chose activities to do. Some read audio books, some made stories on StoryJumper, some played board games and card games and some finished their art.

Flynn reading Cars the audio book

Jade, Vienna and Shayan read some browsing books on the listening post

Brigit, Isabel, Heathcliff and Gracie work our 'whodunnit' in Cluedo

Emily, Jazmin and Amanda battle it out at UNO

Jaeda helps Iso finish her koru artwork

Kai, Connor and Ollie making a book on StoryJumper

Shannae finishing her koru artwork

Our favourite part of the day was when we had to cook our BIG BREAKFAST. Luckily we had some fantastic parents who were able to help.  We cooked everything ourselves - pancakes, waffles, hashbrowns, eggs, smoothies, bacon. You name it, we cooked it! Thanks to Mrs Wakefield for also coming in to help out.  Here are some photos and videos of us cooking.
