THE EXPERIMENT

What you need: 

m&ms, cup water, see through container

What to do:

Put 4 m&ms into the centre of the container but they can't touch each other.

Fill with water

Observations:

We saw that the m&ms colour sunk to the bottom of the container and that if you covered the m&ms fully with water the m's floated off! 

We also saw that the colours didn't mix and stayed in sections in the container.

Questions from the investigation:

What would happen if the m&ms touched?

What would happen if you added more m&ms?

What would happen if you changed the temperature of the water?

Would the same thing happen with different types of lollies?

Dr Cassidy's experiment

This is a fun experiment that everyone can do. You can do it in 3 minutes. I got the experiment from Mr Yardley but it did not work. He tried 4 times!! It happened because the flame disintegrates the tea bag and the smaller the bag gets the lighter it is so it floats up. Here's a movie of the experiment.

Scavenger Hunt 2013

At the beginning of the year Rm 26 went on a scavenger hunt around the school following clues. They had to take pictures of what they found. Here is the first movie from Jamie, George, Logan and Nate. Enjoy!

Crusaders visit

On Tuesday the Rugby Ready boys and the school rugby team (along with a very excited Ms Archbold) were treated to visits from All Blacks and Crusaders Tom Donnelly and Zac Guildford! They had a quick question and answer session then off to the field for a game of touch.
