Wacky Wednesday

Today was Wacky Wednesday mufti day. We are raising money for Child Cancer. Our class sure was wacky! We went down to show our buddies just how wacky we really are.

5 pieces of art in 5 days

This term Miss Falkner thought we could try and complete 5 pieces of art in 5 days. This idea came from an artist who completed 100 pieces of art in 100 days!

Day 1: Warm and cold colours
We each had a circle split into 4 quarters and we had to decorate and design these with patterns or symbols. We had to colour these using warm or cold colours.

Day 2: Crayon rubbings
We had 4 quarters to fill with crayon rubbings. We went around the school finding different textures to create different patterns by rubbing a crayon sideways over the paper. Mrs Ford glued them together. Here is the finished product.

Day 3: Sketching
We were given a picture of a dog's head and part of a car. We then had to finish the rest of the picture in a creative way. Here were some of the finished ones.

Art ignition

This term is our arts focus. Last week Mrs Craig kick started our inquiry with a whole school tapa cloth. We went to the hall with 5 other classes and create a square each. We used Pacifika and Maori symbols to help with our designs. Here are some photos of us creating our school tapa cloth.

We created a class one too. This was a practise for the real one in the hall - just in case we made a mistake!

Football in Schools

Each Tuesday afternoon we are so lucky to have Tim from Mainland Football take us for football skills. We have learnt heaps already and love going over to English Park to learn more. Here are some photos from our first two sessions.
