We have had the most fantastic 3 days at Wainui. We came home dirty, sweaty and tired, but with some wonderful experiences.
Day 1:
We hiked into camp - about 3 hours including lunch. The children were fascinated and scared of the cow poo that splattered the trail we walked. The weather was overcast but a good temperature for hiking.
| At the first stop just after the steepest bit of the hike. Great views. |
| Zac checking out the views. |
| Jesse realising that camp is actually not that bad so far. |
| Jaia enjoying his lunch at the top of the hike. |
| Roisin, Jorja, Anna and Lauren eating their lunch. |
| Libby and Anabel enjoying their lunch by the rocks. |
| Views looking out towards the Akaroa Heads. |
| In the forest counting off. Is everyone here? |
| Looking at the rocks where the coasteering will happen. |
| Very excited about seeing a horse. |
| Running down the hills - not such a super idea. |
| Scrambling up the hills. |
| The sheep/children off to the works! |
Once we arrived at camp it began pouring with rain as we listened to "Caveman" our camp leader telling us the rules of camp.
First activities began at 3pm. We were very excited and nothing could stop us - not even the rain! We loved the mud and puddles everywhere.
| Tribe 3 on low ropes at the spider web. How will they all get through? |
| With a bit of team work they made it! |
| Can they all get to the tractor tyre using the swing rope? |
| Jonathan at archery. |
| Is this Robin Hood? No it's Taylah. |
| Cassidy lining up the target. |
| Tribe 4 were on tea dishes the first night. Great team work guys! |
Day 2 and 3:
These were such beautiful days! With warm sunshine on our backs our first activities began at 8am. Kayaking, Coasteering, Orienteering, Archery and Low Ropes. Here are some photos.
| Getting ready for some kayak action! |
| The beautiful view. |
| Lily and Juliana's first kayak experience. |
| Roisin and Katie out of bounds! |
| Heads, shoulders, knees and toes kayak style! |
| Drowned rats! |
| Even the cruise ships stayed the night. |
| Is this Robin Hood? No it's FGB! |
| Now this is how you do it kids. Pity Riley, Kristen, Adrian and Lily all got bulls eyes and I didn't! |
| Team building/co-operative games before low ropes. |
| How much faith do you have in Mitchell, Riley? |
| Before our favourite activity - COASTEERING!!! |
| Too much of a good thing. Bit sleepy on the way home. |
We had a blast and we would like to thank all the fabulous parents who came on camp and helped us in our tribes. Without your help, camp wouldn't happen.
